When I first saw the flat, it felt completely naked. White walls, glossy tiles, harsh daylight, and nothing to soften the space. The room echoed, the corners looked unfinished, and everything felt temporary. I didn’t want a big makeover or expensive decor. I just wanted small pieces that could slowly warm the room up. So while decorating, I kept most things under ₹1,000 each and focused on items that actually changed how the space felt — texture, lighting, plants, and colour. The blue sofa became the starting point. I added a mustard throw over it first because the room needed warmth immediately. Then I placed a geometric rug underneath to make the seating area feel more grounded. I kept the wall decor minimal with a few small art prints and frames so the room still felt open. The hanging planter near the dining side helped fill the empty wall space without making it look busy. Plants made the biggest difference. I added a tall palm near the sofa, another planter near the TV unit, and fairy lights around the corners that felt dull at night. The orange printed curtains ended up pulling everything together and softened all the white in the room. Now the flat feels calmer and far more lived in. There’s warmth in the corners, softer light in the evenings, and the room finally feels like mine.
